Who's Watts

Growing up, I'd always wanted to be a Blue Peter presenter. To live a life full of adventures, to craft with sticky back plastic and to have a dog at my side. I did write and tell BP Editor, Lewis Bronze of my ambitions and received a kind letter back, which was full of wisdom.

I've still got it.

It advised me that production might also be a suitable route to take if the presenting didn't work out. It turns out, it was.

Starting with a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism in Falmouth, I launched my career as a radio reporter first before becoming a television producer. Photography and Podcasting followed.

There have obviously been landmark moments along the way, but few are more memorable than walking through the doors at Broadcasting House in London for the first time. I'd walked up from Oxford Circus, slightly nervous as I approached the tall and heavy doors.  As I pushed them open, I remember thinking how proud my Grandad would have been to see me walking into the BBC.

Life is, and has been, full of adventure. In true Blue Peter fashion, I have skydived with a British women's formation skydiving team and I've been welcomed into peoples' lives in order to tell their stories.

I usually have a plan when I'm recording or filming but then, when the real story emerges I go with it. Always listening, always curious, always respectful. The only thing missing from my Blue Peter ambitions is the dog. That'll come. One day.
